50th Anniversary Cover Photo Contest
Manitoba Ag Days is inviting photographers from across the Prairie Provinces to help capture the spirit of its milestone 50th anniversary show through the Manitoba Ag [...]

Manitoba Ag Days has a strong tradition of investing in rural communities and agriculture education
through the Ag Days Gives Back program. At the 2026 show a record-breaking $78,000 in funds were
awarded, in the form of an AED cost sharing initiative, community grants, post-secondary scholarships
and support for Ag in the Classroom – Manitoba. Since the program’s inception in 2013 Manitoba Ag
Days Gives Back has committed over $600,000 to building the agriculture community.
Since 2027 is the 50th anniversary of Manitoba Ag Days, the board of directors has decided to celebrate
by including even more people and rural communities in the celebration! Ag Days Gives Back and the
Manitoba Ag Days board will be giving away $131,000 at the 2027 show. This is our biggest single-year
investment to date and it reflects the spirit of the board in committing to hosting a not-for-profit show
that is all about agriculture, now and into the future.
Post-secondary scholarships of $2000 each are open to students in their final year of high school or to
post secondary students. All agricultural related education and training is eligible, including degree,
diploma, certificate and trade programs. Applicants are asked to complete the form and include a
written biography and video outlining their community involvement and volunteerism, career goals and
aspirations and how they see themselves fitting into the ag industry. Applications are being accepted
NOW through November 1, 2026 and three scholarships will be awarded at the 2027 show.
This year no applications are needed for the Ag Days Gives Back community grants. Instead we will be
donating a large sum of money to an existing agricultural organization that is active in communities
across the province, where our patrons and exhibitors live. Stay tuned for more details around the
announcement, which will occur at the 50th Anniversary Show!
Again this year, Manitoba Ag Days will be awarding the Agricultural Youth Education Grant to Agriculture
in the Classroom – Manitoba. This grant in the amount of $15,000 helps bring students to Manitoba Ag
Days so that they can see equipment first hand, talk to professionals in the industry and gain an
appreciation for the huge impact of agriculture on the economy, food security and sense of community.
100% of the funds raised through the Manitoba Ag Days 50/50 are used to support the Ag Days Gives
Back fund. “On behalf of the board and our committee, we want to thank the public for their support.
The 50/50 allows purchasers to pool their resources and make a significant impact in communities across
the province and on the lives of students through ag education. There really is a ripple effect through this
program.” commented Sharon Finlay, chair of the Ag Days Gives Back committee.
