What to look for on Thursday – Ag Days 2023

“The first two days of Ag Days 2023 are filled with dynamic speakers and interactive panel discussions and cover a wide variety of subjects. Looking forward to Thursday’s program, it is about agronomy!  If you want Crop Talk, Thursday’s speaker schedule is for you!” commented Kristen Phillips, Manitoba Ag Days General Manager.

The FCC Theatre program starts with a session with just that title on Thursday at 9:00AM. Crop Talk features land management, cereals and pulse and soybean specialists and will discuss what worked well and what didn’t in 2022. If you want More Crop Talk, check back in at 1:45PM for a discussion on weeds, diseases and insects, and how to get the edge in 2023. This is your opportunity to “ask a specialist”, as both Crop Talk panels will be answering audience questions.  In between the Crop Talk sessions, make sure to take in Josh Linville at 11:00AM as he helps us with Understanding the International Fertilizer Landscape.

If you are interested in soybeans, peas or pulses, the MNP Theatre is the place to be on Thursday morning for the Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers Program. Four sessions will get specific about management decisions, including seeding rates, row widths and rotations. In the afternoon, we turn our eyes to the future for the Innovation and Technology Program. At 2:30PM you will hear from Doug Cole about sustainable aviation fuel, how it is produced and why Manitoba is the jurisdiction of choice. Then at 3:15PM, be prepared to consider farming of the future as venture capital agronomist, Scott Day highlights Ag Tech That Could Change Everything.

Thursday is the last day to see over 550 exhibitors, talk to the 32 contenders in the Innovation Showcase, and see the best genetics from the farms participating in this years’ Bull Congress.  Of course, Thursday is also the last day to purchase 50/50 tickets!  The jackpot is growing and tickets are on sale until 11:59 on Thursday, January 18, 2023 and can be purchased at www.agdays.com/buy5050 or at the show through our mobile sellers or at the top of the ramp.
